Description
Enamel is glass fused onto steel at a high temperature. It gives a pan a smooth, hard surface that doesn’t react with food. Tomato sauce, lemon or vinegar don’t change its taste, and the pan doesn’t hold on to the smell of last night’s curry.
This Steenwijck enamel saucepan has a diameter of 16 centimeters and holds 1.4 liters. That is the right size for warming milk, making a sauce, cooking two eggs or heating one serving of soup.
The steel core heats up quickly. Enamel holds the heat well once it is warm, so you can turn the heat down early.
The pan works on gas, electric, ceramic and induction stoves.
The lid fits snugly and keeps in steam and heat.
You can choose from three colors: cream, sage green and red. Each color is fired into the enamel, so it doesn’t fade or wear off in the dishwasher.
Enamel is strong but can chip when it hits a hard edge. Don’t bang a spoon on the rim, and avoid heating the pan empty.
Wash it by hand or in the dishwasher. Soak burned milk for ten minutes and it comes off easily.
The matching enamel casserole 24 cm comes in the same colors.
