The right size makes the difference between clothes you wear every day and clothes that stay in the closet. Here is how to measure, and which size to choose. When in doubt, ask us: we are happy to help.
How to measure
Use a soft tape measure and measure over thin clothing. Keep the tape snug but not tight.
- Chest: around the widest part of your chest, under your arms.
- Waist: around your natural waist, just above the belly button.
- Hips: around the widest part of your hips.
Adult clothing
- S: chest 88 to 94 cm, waist 74 to 80 cm
- M: chest 94 to 100 cm, waist 80 to 86 cm
- L: chest 100 to 106 cm, waist 86 to 92 cm
- XL: chest 106 to 112 cm, waist 92 to 98 cm
- XXL: chest 112 to 120 cm, waist 98 to 106 cm
Between two sizes? For rain jackets and winter jackets, choose the larger size, so a sweater fits underneath. For running shirts and thermal shirts, choose the smaller size for a close fit.
Children’s clothing
Children’s sizes follow height in centimeters. Size 104 fits a child of about 98 to 104 cm, size 116 about 110 to 116 cm, and size 128 about 122 to 128 cm. Children grow fast, so for a jacket, choosing one size up is fine.
Socks and shoes
Our socks come in ranges: 35-38, 39-42 and 43-46. Choose the range that includes your shoe size. Rain boots don’t stretch: if you are between sizes, choose the larger one and wear thicker socks.
Gloves
Measure around your hand just below the knuckles, without the thumb. Up to about 20 cm, choose M. From 20 to 23 cm, L. Above 23 cm, XL.
Hats and helmets
Measure around your head, just above your eyebrows and ears. For the wide-brim sun hat, S/M fits up to 57 cm and L/XL above that. For the bike helmet, M fits 54 to 58 cm and L fits 58 to 61 cm.
Dogs
- Collar: measure around the neck where the collar sits. Two fingers should fit underneath.
- Harness: measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
- Raincoat: measure the back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
- Bed: measure your dog lying down, from nose to the base of the tail, and add a little.
