Hofstee Home & Garden started in 1978 as a small hardware store on a corner of the market square. Grandfather Hofstee sold nails by the kilo, sharpened knives on Saturday mornings and knew which garden hose would last. Today, we are a family business with three stores and an online store, and we still believe in the same things.
Useful things that last
We sell things for the kitchen, the house, the garden and the time you spend outside. Pans, tools, towels, lamps, rain jackets, toys and things for your pets. What they have in common: they are useful, and they last. We would rather sell you one good frying pan that lasts ten years than three that last three.
That is why we test what we sell. Every new product goes home with someone on our team first. Does the kettle switch off on time? Does the rain jacket stay dry on a long ride? Does the dog harness fit a dog that pulls? Only when the answer is yes does it go on the shelf.
Our own brands
Over the years, we started working with makers who share our view. Steenwijck makes our pans and knives. Hoogmaat makes our tools. Wolkendek makes our rain gear, Kriebelbeest our wooden toys, and Golfslag our towels. We know these makers personally, and many of their products have spare parts, so you can repair instead of replace.
People who know how it works
Ask a question in one of our stores, by email or through the contact form, and you get an answer from someone who uses the product. Our team includes a former carpenter, two keen gardeners, a dog trainer and a few people who simply love to cook. If we don’t know the answer, we find out and get back to you within 2 business days.
