Description
The Brammels yogurt maker keeps milk at the low, steady warmth that yogurt cultures like. Seven glass jars of 180 ml stand under a clear dome, so you can see how the yogurt is setting without lifting the lid.
Making yogurt takes two ingredients. Mix a liter of milk with two spoonfuls of plain yogurt, pour it into the jars, and switch on the machine. After about eight hours the yogurt is set. The timer tells you when the time is up.
Then you close each jar with its lid and put them in the fridge. They stay fresh for about a week. Keep one spoonful from the last jar to start the next batch.
Want thicker yogurt? Let the machine run for 10 to 12 hours. The longer it sets, the firmer and slightly more sour it becomes. Strain it through a clean cloth for a thick Greek-style yogurt.
The glass jars don’t take on smells or flavors and are dishwasher safe. The base wipes clean with a damp cloth.
Add fruit, honey or granola just before you eat it, not before the yogurt sets.
