Description
Not everyone needs a different glass for every wine. The Duinhof wine glasses are made for both red and white, and they do both well.
Each glass holds 420 ml. You pour about a third of that, which leaves room to swirl the wine. Swirling brings air into the wine and releases its aroma.
The bowl narrows a little toward the rim. That shape keeps the aroma inside the glass, close to your nose. A straight glass lets it escape.
The glass is crystal glass: thin, clear and bright. A thin rim feels better on the lip than a thick one. Even so, the glasses can go into the dishwasher. Place them on the top rack, apart from each other, and use a short program.
The bowl and the stem are pulled from one piece of glass. The base is joined on by machine. That means there is no seam in the stem where a glass would usually break.
Hold the glass by the stem. Your hand then doesn’t warm the wine, and the bowl stays free of fingerprints.
They go well with the Duinhof wine set “Sunset”, which opens the bottle and keeps the rest fresh.
