Description
A saute pan sits between a frying pan and a pot. It has the wide base of a frying pan, so food browns well, and the high side of a pot, so you can add liquid. The Steenwijck saute pan has a side of seven centimeters and holds 3.5 liters.
That makes it a pan for many dishes. Brown onions and meat, add tomatoes and stock, put the lid on, and let it simmer for an hour. Or make a risotto: the wide base means the rice cooks evenly, and you can stir without spilling.
The pan can go into the oven up to 180 degrees, glass lid included. Start a dish on the stove and finish it in the oven, without moving it to another dish.
The nonstick coating is reinforced with ceramic particles, the same as on the Steenwijck frying pan 28 cm. Use wooden or silicone tools to keep it smooth.
Lift a full pan with two hands and an oven glove, especially when it comes out of the oven.
The glass lid has a steam hole and fits tightly. You can watch the food without letting the heat escape.
Works on gas, electric and ceramic stoves.
