Description
A good lock is the best protection for your bike. U-locks are among the strongest locks you can buy.
The U-shaped shackle is made of hardened steel. Hardened steel is very difficult to cut with a saw or bolt cutters. That makes it a strong deterrent: a thief looks for an easier target.
The shackle fits around most bike racks, posts and lampposts. Lock your frame and, if possible, your rear wheel to a fixed object. A lock that only goes through a wheel can leave the rest of the bike behind.
The lock cylinder has a dust cap. It keeps out dirt and water. In winter, water in a lock can freeze, and you can’t turn the key. The cap prevents that.
You get two keys. Keep one at home in a safe place.
The lock weighs 1.3 kilos. A bracket comes with it, which you mount on the frame. The lock clicks into the bracket and rides along without rattling.
Put a drop of lock oil in the cylinder once a year.
For longer rides, add the double bike bag 40 liters.
