Description
A thermal shirt is the first layer, the one against your skin. Its main job is to keep you dry. Dry skin stays warm. Wet skin gets cold fast.
The fabric of this shirt moves sweat away from your skin to the outside, where it can evaporate. That is why you don’t get cold as soon as you stop moving, at the top of a hill or during a break at work. A cotton shirt holds sweat and feels cold and clammy.
The shirt is thin and close-fitting. It fits easily under a fleece, a sweater or a work jacket. It doesn’t bunch up or stick to your skin.
The seams on the shoulders are flat. When you carry a backpack or a heavy load, a thick seam presses into your shoulder. Flat seams don’t.
Wear it for winter walks, skiing, cycling to work in the cold, or outdoor work in frost.
The color is anthracite, a dark gray that doesn’t show marks quickly.
Wash at thirty degrees and let it dry on a hanger. Don’t use fabric softener, which blocks the fibers.
Over it: the men’s fleece sweater.
