Description
Birds visit gardens where there is food. A hanging feeder brings them close to your window, where you can watch them.
The feeder has a glass tube that holds about one liter of seed. You can see how full it is from the house. When the level drops, it is time to refill.
On top sits a metal roof. It keeps rain off the seed, so it doesn’t get wet and moldy. The roof lifts off for filling.
At the bottom are two openings with a perch in front of each. Two birds can eat at the same time. Small birds like tits and finches love this kind of feeder.
Hang it from a branch, a hook on a wall or a pole. Choose a spot at least two meters from bushes where cats can hide, and high enough that they can’t jump to it.
Feed sunflower seeds or a seed mix. In winter, birds need food most. In spring and summer, a feeder helps parents feeding their young.
Clean the feeder every few weeks with hot water. Old seed and droppings can spread disease.
Let the tube dry fully before you refill it.
