Flying a kite should be fun from the first try. This delta kite is made to fly easily, also for beginners.
The delta shape is a triangle, like a wing. It is one of the most stable kite shapes. It needs no tail to stay upright, and it rises in very light wind. At wind force two, a light breeze that just moves the leaves, it goes up. At the beach or in an open field, there is almost always enough wind.
The sticks are made of fiberglass. Fiberglass bends without breaking. When a sudden gust hits the kite, the sticks flex and the kite stays in one piece. Wooden sticks snap more easily.
The wingspan is 1.2 meters. That is big enough to catch the wind and small enough for a child to handle.
Fifty meters of line come on a reel. Let out the line slowly as the kite rises. Wind it back on the reel when you are done, so it doesn’t tangle.
Stand with your back to the wind. Let someone hold the kite a few meters away and let it go when you pull.
