Description
A spirit level works on short distances. For a long line across a wall, a laser is faster and more precise.
The cross line laser projects two bright lines: one horizontal and one vertical. Where they cross, you have a perfect reference point.
The laser levels itself. Place it on its tripod or on a table, switch it on, and an internal pendulum sets the lines straight. That works as long as the device is within four degrees of level. If it stands too crooked, the lines blink to warn you.
The lines are visible up to 10 meters away. That covers a large room.
Here is what it makes easy. Hang a row of pictures at the same height. Mount kitchen cabinets in a straight line. Place tiles in an even pattern. Fit a wall shelf without marking the wall with a pencil first.
The tripod adjusts in height up to 1.20 meters. Set the laser at the height you need and the line appears exactly there.
The laser runs on three AA batteries.
Never look directly into the laser.
