Description
Planting a few bulbs with a trowel is easy. Planting a hundred is hard on your back and knees. With this long-handled bulb planter, you do it standing up.
Here is how it works. Place the cylinder on the ground where the bulb should go. Put your foot on the foot rest and push the planter into the soil. Pull it back up. A plug of soil comes out in the cylinder, and a neat hole remains.
Drop a bulb into the hole, pointed end up. Move to the next spot and repeat. When you push the planter in again, the new plug pushes the old one out. Or squeeze the grip, and the cylinder opens to release the plug above the last hole, filling it.
The cylinder has depth markings. Most bulbs go in at a depth of two to three times their own height. Tulips and daffodils go in at about ten centimeters.
The planter is 95 centimeters long and made of coated steel that doesn’t rust.
Plant spring bulbs in October and November, before the ground freezes.
