For a small lawn, a motor is not needed. This reel mower is quiet, clean and gives a beautiful cut.
The mower has a cylinder with five spiral blades. When you push it, the wheels turn the cylinder. The blades sweep the grass against a fixed bottom blade and cut it, like a pair of scissors. A motor mower spins one blade very fast and hits the grass. That tears the tips, and torn tips turn brown. A reel mower leaves a clean cut and a greener lawn.
The cutting width is 38 centimeters. It suits a lawn of up to one hundred square meters.
There is no motor, no cable and no fuel. You don’t need to start anything and there are no fumes. The only sound is the soft whirr of the blades. You can mow early on a Sunday morning without waking the neighbors.
The cutting height has four settings. Mow a little higher in summer, so the grass protects its own roots from the sun.
The mower weighs 8.5 kilos and is easy to push. Mow often, about once a week, because a reel mower prefers short grass.
