Description
A hose on the ground is a trip hazard and wears out faster. A reel on the wall keeps it off the path and out of the way.
This reel hangs on a bracket on the wall, with a swivel arm in between. When you walk with the hose to the left, the reel turns to the left. When you go right, it turns right. The hose comes off in a straight line and doesn’t scrape along the bricks or the corner of the wall.
The reel holds 20 meters of 1/2 inch hose. A short connecting hose runs from the tap to the reel.
After watering, wind the hose back with the crank. It rolls on in even layers, which keeps it from kinking and tangling.
In winter, water left in a hose can freeze and burst it. Empty the hose, then lift the reel off its bracket with one hand and store it in the shed or garage. In spring, hang it back.
The reel is gray plastic and doesn’t rust.
It fits the garden hose 25 meters if you shorten it, or any 20-meter hose.
