Description
In winter, the alarm often goes off when it is still dark outside. Waking up then feels hard. The Zonnewende wake-up light gives you a sunrise in your bedroom.
Set your alarm time. Thirty minutes before it, the lamp starts to glow with a soft red light. Slowly, it turns orange and then bright warm white, up to 300 lux. Your body notices the light through your closed eyes and starts to wake up by itself. When the alarm sounds, you are often already awake.
You can wake up to one of five natural sounds, like birds or waves, or to the radio.
At night, the sunset mode does the opposite. The light dims slowly over a set time, from warm white to soft red to dark. It helps you relax and fall asleep.
The light also works as a bedside lamp, with several brightness levels.
The display shows the time and dims at night, so it doesn’t keep you awake.
A snooze button on top gives you nine more minutes.
The clock uses mains power. A backup battery keeps the time and alarm settings during a power cut.
For a lamp that you read by, see the clip-on reading lamp.
