The Veldhoek toaster has two wide slots. They fit a thick slice of homemade bread, a slice of sourdough, or half a bun, cut side inward.
Six settings let you choose how dark your toast becomes. Setting two gives light toast, setting five a dark crust. The setting stays where you leave it, so tomorrow’s toast is the same as today’s.
The defrost button is for bread straight from the freezer. The toaster first thaws the slice and then toasts it, in one go. Use it for frozen waffles and pancakes too.
Small slices sometimes sink too deep to reach. Push the lever up past its normal stop, and the lift function raises the toast higher. You don’t need a fork or a knife, which is safer too.
The crumb tray slides out at the side. Empty it once a week above the bin and the toaster stays clean and doesn’t smell burned.
The body is cream colored and wipes clean with a damp cloth. With 900 watt it toasts two slices in about two minutes.
Always unplug the toaster before you empty the crumb tray or clean it.
