Description
A good tape measure saves you from mistakes and from asking someone to hold the other end.
The tape is 25 millimeters wide and slightly curved. That curve makes it stiff. You can push it out horizontally for a meter and a half before it bends down. You can measure the width of a room or the height of a window on your own.
The hook at the end is magnetic. It clings to a steel door frame or a radiator and stays there while you walk to the other end.
The hook moves a little, by exactly its own thickness. That looks like a fault, but it is on purpose. When you hook it over an edge, it slides out and the measurement starts at the edge. When you push it against a wall, it slides in and the measurement starts at the wall. Both are correct.
The brake button holds the tape at any length. Press it again, and the tape rolls back in.
The housing has a rubber jacket. A drop from a ladder doesn’t crack it.
The tape is 5 meters long. That covers most rooms in a home.
