Description
A shelf that is a little crooked is something you see every day. A spirit level makes sure it is straight from the start.
This spirit level has three vials. The middle one shows when something is horizontal: a shelf, a table, a picture frame. The one at the end shows when something is vertical: a door frame, a post, a cabinet. The third vial is set at 45 degrees, for a stair rail or a diagonal brace.
Each vial can be read from above and from the side. You don’t need to bend down to see if the bubble is in the middle.
The bottom of the profile is milled. Milling makes the edge perfectly flat. A level that is not flat gives a wrong reading, even if the vials are right.
The length is 60 centimeters. It is long enough for a shelf and short enough to carry in a toolbox.
The rubber caps at both ends protect the level when it falls. They also give grip, so it doesn’t slide away when you lean it against a wall.
For long lines across a room, see the cross line laser with tripod.
