Cats love to sleep in small, enclosed spaces. A box, a drawer or a cupboard often wins over an open bed. This felt cat bed gives them that cave.
It is made of wool felt. Felt is wool that is pressed and rolled until the fibers lock together into a thick, firm material. It holds its shape without a frame.
The bed is a round cave with an opening at the front. Inside, it is warm and dark. Your cat can curl up, watch the room through the opening, and feel safe.
Wool keeps warm in winter and breathes in summer, so it doesn’t get stuffy. Wool also resists dirt and doesn’t hold smells easily.
The bed is 40 centimeters across. That fits most adult cats.
Push the top down into the bottom, and the cave becomes an open bowl. Some cats prefer that in summer.
Place it in a quiet spot, away from drafts and the busy part of the house. Some cats need a few days to try a new bed. A treat or a piece of your clothing inside can help.
Shake it out and vacuum it now and then. Felt can be washed by hand in cool water with wool detergent.
