Description
Moving water keeps a pond fresh. It brings oxygen into the water, which fish and plants need, and it makes it harder for mosquitoes to breed. The sound of a small fountain is a bonus.
This pump moves 1500 liters per hour. That suits a pond of up to two thousand liters. As a rule, a pump should move the full volume of the pond at least once every hour or two.
It runs quietly and uses just 25 watt. You can leave it running day and night during the warm months.
In front of the pump sits a pre-filter. It stops leaves and small debris from blocking the pump. When the flow gets weaker, take off the filter with a quarter turn and rinse it under the tap. It takes a minute.
Three attachments come with the pump. The first gives a straight jet of water. The second makes a bell shape, a smooth dome of water. The third connects a hose, so the pump can feed a small waterfall or a filter.
Place the pump on a brick, not on the muddy bottom of the pond. It stays cleaner that way.
In winter, take the pump out and store it in a bucket of water indoors.
