Description
Duvets, pillows and winter coats take up a lot of space when you don’t use them. Vacuum storage bags make them much smaller.
You get four bags: two of 80 by 60 centimeters and two of 100 by 70 centimeters. A duvet for one person fits in a large bag. A stack of sweaters fits in a smaller one.
Here is how it works. Fill the bag with clean, dry items. Close the double zip with the small slider that comes with it. Open the valve cap, and hold the nozzle of your vacuum cleaner on the valve. Switch it on, and the air is sucked out. The bag shrinks to about a quarter of its size. Close the valve cap.
The bag is now flat and firm. Slide it under the bed, into a suitcase or onto a high shelf in the wardrobe.
The bags are airtight. Dust, moisture and moths can’t get in. Your winter clothes come out in autumn as clean as they went in.
To open, unscrew the valve cap. Air flows back in, and the items return to their shape after a few hours of airing.
Don’t store leather, down jackets or wool for very long; they need some air.
For storage under the bed in fabric, see the under-bed storage bags, 2 pieces.
