Description
Every job that hangs something on a wall needs wall plugs and screws. This assortment box means you always have the right size at hand.
The box holds 400 pieces: wall plugs in four sizes, 5, 6, 8 and 10 millimeters, with matching screws for each size.
A wall plug and a screw must match. A screw that is too thin doesn’t spread the plug, and it pulls out. A screw that is too thick splits the plug. In this box, the screws in each compartment are chosen for the plugs next to them.
Here is a simple guide:
– 5 mm for light pictures and small hooks,
– 6 mm for picture frames, mirrors and towel rails,
– 8 mm for shelves and curtain rails,
– 10 mm for heavy shelves and cabinets.
The plugs are made for solid walls: brick, concrete and stone. For drywall, use special drywall plugs, or screw into a stud. The stud finder shows you where studs are.
Drill the hole with a masonry bit of the same size as the plug. Clean out the dust, push the plug in flush with the wall, and drive the screw.
The box is clear and has separate compartments. You see at once what is running low.
