A collar is worn every day, through rain, mud and play. The Kwispelhof leather dog collar is made to last.
It is made of cowhide leather. Good leather is strong and becomes softer and more supple with time. It shapes itself to your dog’s neck and doesn’t rub.
The buckle is brass. Brass doesn’t rust, also when the collar gets wet every day.
The ring for the leash and the name tag is welded closed. A ring that is only bent closed can open when a strong dog pulls. A welded ring stays closed.
Choose the size by measuring your dog’s neck where the collar sits:
– S, for a neck of 25 to 35 centimeters,
– M, for a neck of 35 to 45 centimeters,
– L, for a neck of 45 to 55 centimeters.
The collar should fit so that two fingers slide between the collar and the neck. Too tight hurts, and too loose can slip over the head.
Attach a name tag with your phone number.
Clean the leather with a damp cloth. Once in a while, rub in a little leather balm to keep it supple. Let a wet collar dry at room temperature.
The matching leather dog leash 1.5 meters is made of the same leather. For dogs that pull, a padded dog harness is better.
