Description
Weeds between paving stones are hard to pull out. The roots break, and the weeds come back. A weed burner deals with them without chemicals and without kneeling.
The idea is simple. You hold the flame over a weed for one or two seconds. You don’t burn it to ash. The short burst of heat makes the water in the cells boil, and the cell walls burst. The weed looks almost the same at first. A day later, it has wilted and turned brown.
Move slowly along the joints, about one step every few seconds. Young weeds die after one treatment. Tough weeds with deep roots may need two or three rounds over a few weeks.
The burner runs on an ordinary gas cartridge. Press the piezo button, and the flame lights. You don’t need a lighter or matches.
The handle is 85 centimeters long. You work standing straight, with the flame close to the ground and far from your feet.
Never use it near dry grass, hedges or wooden fences, and never on a dry, windy day. Keep a watering can at hand.
